With 192 rooms and 51 suites, Four Seasons Hualalai is large enough to provide ample opportunities for guests but small enough to maintain an intimate atmosphere.
Layouts and amenities vary between the various types of accommodations, but all are designed to promote relaxation.
Guest Rooms
The various guest rooms at Four Seasons Hualalai share similar designs and amenities. All span 635 square feet and can accommodate up to three guests with a king bed, sofa bed, and crib.
The key difference involves the view. Oceanfront and ocean-view rooms are by far the most scenic, although some guests may prefer the convenience of the Poolside Rooms, which provide access to the pools from the back terrace.

- Deluxe Suite Prime Ocean View: This suite occupies 1,441 square feet. With a king bed, a sofa bed, and a crib, it’s meant for up to three guests. Its location on the top floor delivers some of the resort’s best scenery.
- Deluxe Suite Ocean View: Like the Prime Ocean View version, this suite spans 1,441 square feet. It differs, however, in that it can be connected with other rooms to form a two-bedroom accommodation.
- Superior Suite Oceanfront: As the closest suite to the shoreline, this 1,050 square foot space is a natural choice for beach lovers. It includes a king bed, a sofa bed, and a crib. A downstairs edition includes a lava rock shower.
- Superior Suite Prime Ocean View: This 1,050 square foot suite offers tropical vibes for up to three guests. An elevated location produces sweeping vistas, which can be enjoyed when the sliding doors are left open.
- Superior Suite Ocean View: Featuring a similar layout to the Superior Suites described above, this version comes with an outdoor terrace.
- Superior Suite Poolside View: The dimensions for this suite echo those outlined above, but its convenient location near the pool makes it a favorite among families with young children.
- Superior Suite Ocean Golf View: Gaze out at the perfectly manicured golf course as you stay in this pristine suite, which also offers a glimpse of the ocean in the distance.

- Kou Suite: Mere steps from the shoreline, this 2,600 square foot suite includes a lanai that is easily accessible from the bedroom. Other highlights include a vast walk-in closet and an outdoor lava rock shower.
- Kailani Suite: Similar to the Kou Suite, this offering has 2,600 square feet and easy lanai access. Its location near the center of the resort makes it one of the best suites for guests who want to do it all.

Makaloa Villa
Situated near the lovely Waiakauhi Pond, this villa appeals to families searching for seclusion. Its lanai is sure to please, as it includes a daybed swing, a fire pit, and even a private pool and spa.
This 4,605 square foot space can accommodate up to ten guests, including as many as five children. Every bedroom is accompanied by a granite bathroom. Stunning local art pieces abound within these spacious accommodations; keep an eye out for the handmade Makaloa mat.
Ho’onanea Villa
Discover the upscale oasis of the Ho’oonanea Villa, where you’ll enjoy the use of up to 3,740 square feet of beautifully decorated space, plus an awe-inspiring view of the Pacific Ocean.
This villa accommodates up to six people (including two children), so it’s perfect for a family vacation or gathering with friends. Layouts with one, two, or three bedrooms are available.

Hawaii Loa Presidential Villa
Indulge in a glamorous experience at this prestigious villa, which represents the pinnacle of the Hualalai experience. Its beachfront location makes it an ideal spot for sunbathing or whale watching. Like the Ho’oonanea Villa, this bungalow also provides direct beach access.
The two-story presidential villa provides over 5,200 square feet and four bedrooms, most of which include king beds. Those who desire extra privacy can find it in the upper-level master bedroom, which occupies the entire second floor.
Dining at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai
Casual and upscale dining opportunities abound at the resort’s restaurants, where you can enjoy a variety of memorable culinary experiences.
Local ingredients and preparation techniques are dominant, although some international influences can also be found. In-room dining is available, too.
ULU Ocean Grill
An elevated dining experience awaits at the ULU Ocean Grill, where you’ll be treated to an unforgettable view of the coast. The dominant approach at this restaurant is known as RSA: Regional, Seasonal, and Artisanal.
Contemporary Hawaiian sensibilities are evident in both the decor and the menu, which highlight the natural beauty and flair of the islands. The expertly-prepared dishes are wok-fired or flame-grilled, with favorites including Kona cold lobster, a Bento box, and golden pineapple curry.
Residents’ Beach House
As the casual alternative to the ULU Ocean Grill, the Residents’ Beach House maintains laid-back vibes while possessing an exclusive feel. Local cuisine is a clear priority, as evidenced by the extensive use of ingredients originating from the Hawaiian islands.

Boasting a spectacular location mere steps from the pristine water, the Beach Tree Bar and Lounge serves a variety of tropical cocktails, which include everything from pineapple-infused Kuleana Huihui rum to chili-infused Kapena tequila. A few non-alcoholic beverages are also available, as are champagne and wine.
Beach Tree also serves intriguing bar bites, including sautéed mussels and mahi-mahi tacos. Stop by at sunset to enjoy one of the resort’s most noteworthy views.
Hualalai Grille
Enjoy a lobster tower or Chateaubriand overlooking the 18th green of the Hualalai Golf Course at Hualalai Grille. The sunsets from the open-air patio of the American steakhouse are particularly pretty. There’s also a separate Bar Lounge menu with snacks and delicious beverages, of course.
Hualalai Trading Company

The Beach and Ocean Swimming
One of our most frequently asked questions is can you swim in the ocean at Four Seasons Hualalai? People hear that the beach is rocky.
Yes, thanks to the Ocean Pool, you can swim. It’s a designated swimming area protected by a lava rock breakwater.
Loungers line all parts of the beach. And, water sports launch from the resort’s beach as well.
Swimming Pools
There’s a pool for everyone at Four Seasons Hualalai, where splashing and sunbathing are serious pursuits. Explore the resort’s seven pools (eight counting the Ocean Pool), which offer a unique experience.
- King’s Pond: 1.8-million-gallon (6.8-million-litre) lava rock aquarium, home to 4,000 tropical fish and spotted eagle ray with Kumu Kai Marine Center, offering marine education and experiences. King’s Pond Pool surrounds King’s Pond, with an infinity pool and three hot tubs.

Kings Pond — A True Highlight
We need to talk about Kings Pond a bit more because it really adds enormous value to your vacation. It’s not just a swimmable aquarium — guests get to learn about its residence thanks to the adjacent Kumu Kai Marine Center.
Here, onsite marine biologists facilitate interactive, educational experiences at the pond and its touch tanks. Most are complimentary though some can be booked as private experiences like feeding the resident eagle ray.
Kings Pond has a sand bottom and is carved into lava rock. The resort provides snorkeling equipment. If you don’t feel like getting in with the fish, relax in one of the loungers with an upscale bento box from the specially crafted poolside menu.
Water Sports
No visit to Hawaii is complete without enjoying the ocean. Your options at Four Seasons Hualalai include outrigger canoe, stand-up paddle boarding, subwing experiences (it’s like flying underwater), and various tours by boat like snorkeling tours.
During whale watching season (January – March), you can board their Ribcraft boat to spot humpback whales less than a mile from shore. You’ll even hear them through the boat’s underwater sound system.
Hualalai Golf Course

You can book couples treatments, and mothers-to-be can enjoy the special babymoon treatment menu. A salon also offers hair, nail, and make-up services. Kids must be 14 or older to book a spa treatment, but all ages can enjoy the salon.

Kīholo State Park Reserve

Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail
