The Edmonton International New Year’s Eve Gala

Come support the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and ring in 2023 in style at one of the city’s most anticipated New Year’s Eve events: the Edmonton International New Year’s Eve Gala. Held annually at the Fantasyland Hotel in West Edmonton Mall, it is simply January’s most prestigious night out.

This year’s gala promises to be a spectacular evening, with the Edmonton Journal calling it ‘the marquee event to be seen at’. Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and a special presentation performed by former members of Cirque du Soleil. This family-friendly event will be held in a Fantasyland Hotel elegant ballroom from 7:00 pm until 3:00 am on December 31. Tickets start at $175, with proceeds supporting the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Put on your finest outfit and prepare for a spectacular evening of food, fun, and unparalleled entertainment, courtesy of Cirque du Soleil.

Deadly Uncles New Year’s Cabaret

Ring in the new year right with a night of food, fun, and entertainment. Enjoy live music performed by Edmonton’s Deadly Uncles at this New Year’s Eve party taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion Norwood Branch. Bands will rotate all night long, followed by an all-request DJ hour leading up to the big countdown. Tickets to this 18+ event can be purchased in advance for $35 or for $45 at the door. Doors open at 8:00 pm on Dec. 31.

New Year’s Eve Dueling Pianos

Cattails Crossing and Out of Bounds restaurant presents Dueling Pianos, one of the newest New Year’s Eve events, held at the Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club, just north of the city. Your favourite songs from the 1950s to today will be performed by two world-class performers who are ready to take your requests. Tickets start at $125 and include a gourmet dinner, starting at 7:30 pm, and a glass of champagne at 11:00 pm. The musical festivities will continue well passed the countdown, wrapping up at around 2:00 am.

The Rec Room Edmonton NYE Bash

Edmonton’s favourite game stop is throwing the ultimate New Year’s Eve party at their northwest location, starting at 9:00 pm on Dec. 31. With live entertainment at the Rec Room including a DJ, magic show, photo booth, and 5 hours of unlimited gaming, this new year’s event promises to be fun for the whole family. Feature cocktails will be available for those of legal drinking age, including a prosecco toast at midnight to ring in the new year, with non-alcoholic options available as well. Tickets start at $25 for general admission or pay $35 for VIP Early Access tickets.

Watch the Edmonton Oilers Battle the Winnipeg Jets

The puck drops on the Oilers and the Jets game at 8:00 pm on New Year’s Eve in Edmonton, but hockey fans are invited down to the ICE District early for a tailgate party that kicks off at 6:00 pm. After the game, the ICE District Plaza will become a rocking bash complete with live music, food and beverages, and a fireworks display to mark the start of 2023. Be sure to dress warm!

New Year’s Eve ’23 at The Bower

If nightclubs and dinner parties aren’t your thing, then the warm and intimate setting of The Bower cocktail bar might be right up your alley. Featuring the music of Junior Brown, The Bower is opening its doors outside of normal business hours this new year’s eve. Make a reservation between the hours of 8 and 9 pm and keep your table all night. Tickets are available for $25 in advance or for $30 at the door. (Note that tickets must be purchased prior to making a reservation.)

Century Casino NYE Bash

Get ready to rock in the new year with the Century Casino in St. Albert or Edmonton. Both locations are throwing the ultimate NYE party featuring live music, events cocktails, and maybe even your chance to win big.

Century Casino Edmonton welcomes Canadian rock band Prism to their showroom stage for an unforgettable evening of their classic hits. Tickets start at $70, and doors open at 8:00 pm.

Century Casino St Albert will be showcasing local band Chronic Rock at their VEE Lounge for a spectacular evening of food, fun and music. Tickets start at $100 and are sold by table only. Admission includes a 3-course meal, party favours, and more.

Big Sugar at the River Cree Resort & Casino

After the tragic death of bassist Garry Lowe, Big Sugar is back to ring in the new year at the River Cree Resort & Casino at 9:00 pm on New Year’s Eve. Featuring the talent of Garry’s 22-year-old son, Ben Lowe, fans can expect to hear all their old favourites along with some tracks from their new album, Eternity Now. Tickets start at $42. After the show, get a bite to eat at any of the resort’s restaurants or try your luck at the casino.

Welcome 2023 in style at JW Marriott’s first-ever Fire and ICE New Year Celebration! Held in Edmonton’s upscale Wayne Gretzky ballroom overlooking ICE District Plaza, this highly exclusive event includes a delicious New Year’s Eve dinner, a special performance by the Sangea Academy Drummers, and a jaw-dropping display of aerial acrobatics by Firefly Circus Entertainment. Tickets are $189 per person and include a welcome cocktail and champagne toast (nonalcoholic alternatives will be available). Doors open at 8:00 pm.

Silver & Gold at Evolution Wonderlounge

Start off a new, queer year! Dress in theme and prepare for the night of your life in downtown Edmonton! This epic Silver & Gold dance party includes a mini-drag show and music by special guest DJ Chi Chi LaRue. The evening begins at 9:00 pm and tickets are only $11.

Let’s Get Fizzy: New Year’s Eve in Edmonton, 2023

This New Year’s Eve, the trendy crowd will be flocking to Craft Beer Market for their 4-course dinner and countdown party. Have your choice of amuse bouche, appetizer, and main, along with special featured cocktails and, of course, a huge selection of craft beers. Seatings are available between 7:00 and 8:30 pm, with a countdown dance party to follow until the wee hours of the morning. There will be a live DJ, party favours, and more. Dinner and countdown party tickets can be purchased for $90. Ticket details for their late-night party are TBA, so watch their social media for more details.

New Year’s Eve Dinner and Burlesque Show at Boxer

Get an early start to your New Year’s Eve events at Boxer’s New Year’s Eve Dinner and Burlesque Show. Guests will enjoy an appetizer, dinner, and dessert, plus a glass of bubbles before a 90-minute burlesque show. Starting at 7:00 pm, the dancers will be weaving between the tables, granting everyone a front-row seat! Tickets start at $160. Note that Boxer’s late-night New Year’s Eve event begins at 10:00 pm, so seating for the dinner ends at 9:00 pm.

Extend the party at Boxer Restaurant and Bar with their New Year’s Eve Late Show and Countdown starting at 10:00 pm. For $120, you will get access to one of Edmonton’s sexiest New Year’s Eve events, including delicious tapas, a special welcome drink, and a midnight toast. The burlesque show starts at 11:00 pm and continues until the countdown at midnight.

New Year’s Eve Family Beach Ball at the World Waterpark

West Edmonton Mall is throwing the ultimate beach party this New Year’s Eve, and everyone’s invited. The New Year’s Eve Family Beach Ball gives Edmontonians a chance to come in from the cold and celebrate a tropical new year at the World Waterpark, North America’s second-largest waterpark. Starting at 6:00 pm and going all the way to midnight, guests will be treated to an all-you-can-eat buffet, DJ, caricature artist, and a spectacular indoor fireworks show. Tickets start at $84 for individuals and $300 for a family of four.

Strathcona County New Year’s Eve Festival at Broadmoor Lake Park

Join families from all over the city at Strathcona County’s annual New Year’s Eve Festival at 8:00 pm on December 31. This family-friendly (and free!) event includes plenty of fun activities like live music, delicious hot chocolate, and other treats. An early fireworks display at 8:00 pm is perfect for little ones who can’t stay up until midnight. Bundle up and join in the fun at Broadmoor Lake Park.

Stony Plain New Year’s Eve Family Fest at Heritage Park

Every year, residents of Stony Plain look forward to their New Year’s Eve Family Fest at the sprawling Heritage Park, where kids can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, including a DJ, ice skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, and face painting. The bonfire provides a fantastic atmosphere to sip a warm mug of apple cider while munching on popcorn before fireworks lit up the sky to ring in the new year at 9:00 pm. While the event is free, donations to the food bank are encouraged.
